Enhancing the power of words
Diálogos
Diálogos project was based on three different steps; conversations, collective spaces and a concluding experience.
01. Conversations
This was the first step of Diálogos. We began with a research on concepts that could allow us to reach the essence of relevant knowledge around processes of social, cultural and economical transformation. Promoting ideas, initiatives, projects, organizations and goals of agents of change in their respective contexts through a Podcast series. Diálogos sought to go beyond the surface of concepts and their meanings, through conversations with people who have deepened these concepts from their feelings, thoughts and actions. Strengthening and promoting ideas, initiatives, projects, organizations and objectives that each listener could apply and promote in their own context and from their own perspective.
“In true dialogue, both sides are willing to change”.
— Nhat Hanh
02. Espacios de unión (Collective spaces)
From Diálogos arise “Espacios de unión” in which we connected people with similar or different objectives and visions. These spaces were the second step of dialogues and consisted on a serie of meetings, physical or virtual, whose objectives was the creation of emotional and ideological connections between people from different geographical, social and/or cultural contexts but with common characteristics that can later link them and create synergies between them. Facilitating an experience where participation is easy, opening hearts through exchange of knowledge and perspectives. Generating new tools for the development of the ideas and practices of each participant.
An example of one of those meetings / collective spaces: “Tejido: una sesión de unión y diálogo. (Fabric: a session of union and dialogue)”. This interactive event was joined by women from different nationalities, contexts, ethnic groups, ages, projects and reflections. It was all around past, the present and future of weaving as a tool that empowers the field of sustainability as well as social healing. Bringing new generations closer to the idea of creating a collective awareness of the importance and power of fabric as a tool for wisdom and social transformation, seeking a transformation on the industries, combined with an indigenous principle shared by the wonderful indigenous leader, Ana Ilba Torres.
“Restore the energy of the territory, production and harmonize with our knowledge”
— Ana Ilba Torres
03. The experience
— Introduction and individual presentation
We begin with the explanation of the essence of the Andean principles Munay, Yachay and Llankay. To generate a first connection, we share our emotional state with each other based on a visual metaphor, representing emotions through the colors of a chromatic circle. Followed by an exchange of ideas based on our knowledge and perception of the subject with the essence of Yachay. In the following image you can see the points that identify the location of the participants.
— Cloud of projects, missions and visions.
Each project, work or idea in which different people were using weaving as their creative medium was described and explained. sharing techniques, references, trends and concepts.
— Actions, dreams and obstacles
We share fears, dreams, goals and thoughts on how to move forward with each of the ideas that are being developed in order to strengthen the concepts through the contrast of perspectives, and listening to opinions and contexts different from our own.
